I think who ever weighed this tent at Sierra Designs was drunk that day because it definitely does not weight 6lbs 15oz. It is closer to 7lbs 10oz+. I weighed it on both my home scale and our work postage scale. You guys need to update your page to include everything that comes in the stuff sack to give a realistic view of this product. I will update my review once I have used the tent for the first time.

Update! (refer to my first post)My husband and I have used this tent many times now. Every time we go camping it seems to rain and this tent has never leaked a drop or had condensation inside. We recently camped up the Pacific Coast Highway from Malibu to Big Sur. It was amazing and I highly recommend the trip, however, I would recommend it even more with this tent. Our camping buddies have a Marmot and they have not stayed dry. So I am surprised when I hear the misinformed sales people at REI badmouthing Sierra Designs (every single time I go and even in different states)and promoting other products which I know are not as durable. Also, Sierra Designs has unbelievable customer service. So if you read my earlier post, the first time I used the tent I was in a pretty rough storm. I used the tent brand new out of the bag and during set up I noticed a clip lock (see the video)was missing. Now, either it blew away while setting up in a crazy storm or it was just missing. Either way, I called Sierra Designs and, at no charge to me, was shipped the part in 3 days! Now that's customer service! And to the REI employee who tried to tell me not to buy the Sierra Designs rain jacket, too bad! I'm ordering one for me and my husband today!! If their tent is waterproof, then logic says their fully taped PVC-free rain jacket is too. I would also like to mention that I love the vestibules for keeping gear dry and the gear loft for keeping clothes, ect. off the floor. For as tiny as this tent packs down, It is nice and roomy inside and it air dries super quickly. Our next destination: Florida Keys! I'll cross my fingers that it doesn't rain on me this time but even if it does, I know I'll stay dry in my beautiful Zia 3!

I was looking to update my 20+ year old Tiros Pro. I purchased the Zia 3 and just got done using it on an 18 day Grand Canyon river trip. Wow, it is awesome. Set it up at home first. The first time is different. However once you learn, it took less than 3 minutes to set up and take down every time. Vertical walls maximize the possible space and allow you to squeeze this big tent into small sports. The neting provided great ventilation as well as allowed the best star watching on the planet.

I bought this tent for my son who is a smaller 8th grader. He is in boyscouts and needed something that would last. I talked to a friend that is an avid adventurer and he recommended Sierra Designs. I was NOT disappointed. My son went to Klondike (snow camp) with the scouts in February. It poured the whole way into camp. He had to set the tent up in the rain and while camping on the snow. He stayed dry all night! By morning they had new snow and still had no problems with this tent. My son got several comments of approval on his tent by the leaders. My younger son has just joined boyscouts and I have decided to buy this tent for him too!
