Plus side: Good aeration, good rain protection, well-designed interior that maximizes use of space. 12 clips supplied, near floor and on roof, allowing easy access to small articles. Minus side: after sporadic, light use, (used 3 times), the stitching on one of the outside pole-sleeve attachment reinforcements at the corners started to unravel. Overall: This defect is unacceptable, as far as I am concerned. I simply can not take this type of risk. I'll have it sewed back, but probably my last Sierra Designs tent. If this tent had been built and inspected in U.S., this would not have happened. Foreign quality with U.S-made price.

I work on a trail crew in Northwest Montana, and I have been using Sierra Designs Meteor Light 2 for the past two seasons. I cannot speak highly enough of this tent! As an individual who spends 70- 90 days of the year living in a tent I demand a lot of my gear, and this tent has yet to let me down. During my tenure with the meteor light 2 I have encountered extended periods of downpour, snow, temperatures down to 19 degrees F, and gusts of wind in excess of 50 mph. I have yet to replace anything on this tent, the poles are still in good shape and unbent, and the fly and bottom remain completely intact with no rips despite the fact I camp without a footprint. The interior is very spacious and easily accommodates two people comfortably plus a dog. I am 6'2" and I have ample head and foot room, and the ceiling is high enough that I can sit up straight with ease. The fly sits a couple inches off of the tent, and it has never sagged enough to touch the actual tent letting in water. In addition the fly extends nearly to the ground all the way around the tent which is a huge plus during rainy days. I have yet to get wet while in this tent, and the splash is kept to a minimum around the edges. Like ll tents though you will accumulate some condensation on the interior of the fly throughout the night. The vestibules are fantastic. They are large enough to easily accommodate 2 packs plus boots etc. I fit my 100 liter pack into the vestibule easily! The only downside is that when you open the vestibule it tends to drip on the edge of the tent. This tent can be set up very easily and quickly, although the unique design of the poles may confuse someone the first time or two. The tent is easily staked down, and it is very easy to stretch the fly out away from the tent. Once staked down properly this tent is bomb proof! As I mentioned I have camped in wind up to 50 mph and this tent remained secure throughout the course of our 8 day hitch without me having to adjust it! The only downside of this tent is the weight and size. It is fairly bulky and heavy, which makes it less than ideal for backpacking by yourself. If you are car camping or getting packed in by stock this is not an issue... obviously. If you are camping with two people it is easy to spread the weight without the tent taking up too much space in either pack. Again this is a exceedingly durable tent which will give you ample room and keep you dry in variety of weather! Enjoy!

Ignore the review above! This is a fantastic tent with smart features! The set-up and packing is fast and easy. Strong yet light materials make this a very sturdy tent that can take on heavy rain and thunderstorm winds. I experienced both with this tent. Great tent for tall people! - I highly recommend this tent! It's a beauty!!

I took this tent out on its 2nd trip on the second nights, found it in a bush 200ft away. The rounded pole had two of the metal segments on the ends literally sheared in half - broken in half metal?? The strait pole's tension rope had been broken and there were segments scattered for 200ft. The rain fly had 3 L shaped tears. The tent was properly stakes, even tied to boulders! The worst was that mine was the only tent out of 7 that was damaged! Even cheapo summer tents from off brands were fine! I called Sierra and they were not helpful at all, and told me I could purchase new poles and fly. When I spend $300 on a good brand tent, I expect it to not be the only tent that breaks. FAIL. Worst is that I had another sierra tent for ten years and it was great - maybe their circle poles are just too tech for their own good.
