Just recieved my RAD jacket last week. Initial review found it to fit true to size, similar to The First Ascent pieces I own. After wearing a week, I feel the jacket is spot-on. The longer sleeves rock, I can reach straight up and not have to worry about them creeping up like my former coat (a TNF). I like the longer length; it covers any and all insulating layers I may place beneath. Fit-wise, is is a little snug, though, I can fit everything from a lightweight fleece to a puffy beneath, without it being restricting. The extra interior pockets are a plus, but like the other reviewer, I may not find a use for the ones on my arms, short of placing my lift pass in one of them. The hood takes a little adjustment to get it right, but it fits well with or without a helmet. I'm 5' 10" and weigh 145 - the small worked for me. I can't wait to try it out when the snow starts to fly. Good job Sierra Designs.

I just got this coat so can't comment about it in the field yet. While trying it on I found that the collar seems a bit strange when not fully zipped up. Also, if you do have it fully zipped up & keep the hood down it takes some adjustments to get it fitting right. The main reason I wanted to leave a review was on the sizing. I only partially agree with previous reviewers claims that it ran big. I'm 5'9" with a muscular/stocky build. The arms are a few inches long, but this isn't too much of a problem since you can tighten the cuff with the velcro. The coat's length isn't as long as another review made it seem. It comes down to the bottom of my jean's back pocket which is ideal for powder days. Also, its form fitting around my chest and waist while tight around my shoulders. If your built like Ashton Kutcher it would be perfect. Haha. I'm debating keeping it vs getting a XL with even longer arms & a bit more shoulder room. Either way, this coat looks & feels like it will be bomb proof out in the BC and I can't wait to test it out.

Love the longer cut on this jacket. Monster pockets. Buy a size smaller than normal. Great bomb proof hard shell for northern Vermont.

Skied in this jacket yesterday for the first time and liked it. Stayed dry in a Cascades wet snow storm. Fit on this jacket runs big - had to return a medium for a small. Only question is why does this jacket need nine pockets? Five outside and four inside? The ones on the sleeves are pretty much useless and four inside pockets is just overkill. If you need to carry that much stuff, wear a pack. Eliminating half the pockets would cut down on bulk and make it a bit easier to stuff in a pack. Otherwise, great jacket at a really reasonable price.
