You won't find a waterproof insulated shell that performs better and costs less. "On Mt. Rainer, we hiked through sub-freezing temps and winds so strong that my partner had to crawl to avoid being blown over," says one tester. "We didn't make the summit, but the Toaster's seam-taped shell shed hours of rain on the climb to Camp Muir, and the pit zips let me avoid overheating.
